Did I miss an announcement at some time that questions that are older than 1 month are only viewable by the OP?

I just added a postscript to a question I originally posted 5 weeks ago and noticed that it didn't appear in the latest posts. A quick check of various topics shows that no questions that were originally posted more than a month ago appear in those listings but, via my profile, I can view all the questions that I have added.

Is that how it's intended to be?

The thread will not appear in the "Most Recent" tab (the clue is in the name) but will appear in "All Answered"
...and "Recently Answered"

Has the time limit for the Most Recent list changed at all? Or have I simply been completely unobservant?
The latter.

Thanks. This is one of the few occasions when wine provides some real clarity of thought.
it's possibly to stop people answering questions without realising they were posted in 2002 (which I have occasionally done). Since we don't get notified any more that our questions have been answered, the OP will never know that anyone's added an answer anyway.
I tick the box so I always get notified.

does it still work, Ratter? It didn't last time I tried, but maybe they've fixed it.

In which case I'll try answering some of your 20-year-old questions so's you'll get a thrill when you see you've got some emails. Until you find out my answers were all wrong.

Morning All,

Some people are reporting the subscription service as a bit hit and miss at the moment.

Let us know if you have trouble - and make sure you mark emails from "@theanswerbank.co.uk" as safe so they don't end up in your spam folder.

All the best,
