I want to buy a small portable radio but it must be able to gets sports on eg cricket as the birthday boy likes to go walking but listening to cricket at the same time, so must be able to get mwave I think it is and must be small enough to carry, possibly with headphones. Ive seen a few small portable ones but dont know which is the best. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance

TOH - I've got a really good little pocket radio, which you should check out. I bought mine for listening to on the way to work - can't be doing with ipods, etc. Just wanted a normal "transister radio" as they used to say. It's the Roberts R9994 Sports 994 radio. It measures 10 cm x 6.3 cm x just under 2 cm. It's really dinky and the quality isn't bad either. Check it out! Chox.
If you get a digital radio, it will also receive 5Live Sports Extra.
This is not available on MW, and sometimes has live commentary of a game while 5Live is covering something else.

Sorry. Only just realised this post had answers. Thanks for your comments. I think the one I was looking at in Currys was a Roberts. Also the one in the Argos book. Thanks again to both of you
