A few months ago a man was caught disguised by wearing a Burka. He could easily have been a suicide bomber concealing explosives..This happened in London...Now the "do gooders " say the wearing of Burkars should be allowed. How stupid is that..If i were a few years younger I would be gone from this ridiculous country...Should Burkers be allowed?

In some ways I agree with John. I think the burkers should be banned. I think theyre just a form of statement like the hoodies. The muslims want to fit into this country, yet they want to be different and treated differently. When we go too their countries we have to abide by their laws, i.e. covering up on beaches and not wearing a hat in mosques etc. Yet they seem to...

Don't be silly if they want to do something as daft as blowing themselves up they could just as well buy a bag and carry the stuff in that.

This is all about racism packaged as "Security" with a lick of "Freedom" thrown in from the liberals on the other side. Its summer and politics is dead so the newspapers invent this nonsense to keep busy.

Anyway ugly people should be required to wear burkas and beautiful people banned from doing so. That is my reasoned position.
This topic seems to crop up every few days, and it is getting boring.....
why does your age stop you leaving the country?
Yes, ban Burkers, body snatching is not good.

Don't ban the burqa though, that would be pointless.
This has been discussed at length several times this week on other threads. The general view (very well expressed by one poster) is that it is the covering of the face in public places, whether by veil, scarf, mask or woolly hat) should be made illegal in the interests of security. The number of men wearning burkhas has been minimal (and itnerestingly, I seem to recall that somewhere in Islamic doctrine it suggests that men should not wear women's clothing...) so to ban it on religious grounds will affect those women who wear it,because of the action of a few men in disguise.
Is the mankini in the wash?
unsurprisingly it does need washing often!
After the length of time you were actually wearing it, it would probably need sterilising.
So we cry for freedom on speech in this country but not the freedom what to wear? If the government are given power to do this under terrorism laws like that carcrash which was the photography of public buildings saga then where will it end? Bans on long hair high collars beards and fluffy coats? These all obscure the face do they not?
oh crap.. I'll get my hair cut :o/

and shave off my beard!
when you say "caught" wearing it - is it illegal to wear womens clothes now?

it should be banned from certain places, try walking into a bank wearing a crash helmet and see how far you get.
