Feeding pet dogs

My 2 year old English springer is healthy, fit and maybe only 2lb over weight. He's fed on Bakers complete plus the occasional scrap such as my daughter's sandwich crusts.

But, i was beginning to think that the food i'm giving him is just plain boring and he needs more. He's not a greedy dog and takes 24 hours to eat his dinner. But it just seems so dull. I've put gravy with it before but i was worried about the amount of salt in it.

The only good thing i get with the complete dog food is there's no back end problems. If i change his food....he can s*** for England.
Any suggestions to liven up his food a bit ?

Try here, I think dogs are like and dont get bored with the same food all the time (unlike humans) http://pets.yahoo.com/pets/dogs/hn/feeding_dogs_for_life_stages
was meant to say dogs are like cats, sorry

Andy I know how you feel - I have a KC spaniel & I feel (pointlessly I'm sure) sorry for him having the same dry food day in day out, but he has a sensitive tum & so I stick to the same food. There's no point making them ill just for the sake of change - I'm sure that sad eyed 'oh no, not that again' look is just to make us feel guilty!

He does have a bit of ready-brek for breakfast & heaven help me if I make it lumpy - he's straight on his mobile to the RSPCA!!

I sometimes sprinkle grated parmeasan on my dogs food..that has no rear end consequences.
My dog is the same ..a 24 hour grazer. He gets Bakers .Tinned dog food gives him rear end trouble too!!
I vary it a bit by chopping up a bit of cheese or corned beef.Once a week he has a small tin of either tuna or sardines with it.He's a large dog so this doesn't affect his output.!!
White fish is quite good and doesn't seem to affect him.I just buy the cheap frozen coley and cook in the microwave let it cool and mix it in with his Bakers.I dare not give him chicken ,liver or roast beef or as my dear old Mum used to say he would s**t over nine hedges and piddle over the tenth!!
have you tried adding a little mashed sardine in oil or a sprinkle of garlic powder (not garlic salt)?
Garlic powder? never even though of that what agood idea.
liven it up by buying pedagree mixer and jelly food just give him that as a meal kk...
