The Lockerbie Bomber was freed on compassionate grounds that he had a terminal cancer and was expected to live little over three months, this was last August!
Was there a deal done for his release as suggested?
and how can a prominent Cancer specialist, get this so wrong, I feel it for all of the victims families and the people of Scotland, who live with this legacy

I'd feel enormously sorry for the victims' families AND Al Megrahi if it later transpired that he was never guilty of the crime.

I suppose thats so NM, was he ever proven to have done it?
Al-Megrahi was appealing against his sentence and many of the victims families wanted this to happen because they do not believe in the official version of events. If they Appeal had gone ahead, and (new) evidence had been made public, then that would have led to a Public Inquiry, something they have longed campaigned for.

By releasing him him on compassionate grounds, the appeal and the route to a public Inquiry were halted, and rather than showing a possible miscarriage of Justice, the conviction stays on record. No further enquiries. If others were responsible, they have got away with it.

Some familes of the victims do feel cheated, not by Al-Megrahi living, but by the continued evasion of their desire to find the truth.

This often happens with criminals being released on compassionate grounds we only hear about the more recent high profile ones. Pinochet , Ronnie Biggs , and Al Megrahi all of whom we were told had only days or at most weeks to live. Pinochet lived a couple of years and the others are still happily at home..
Bobbisox The jury found him guilty on the evidence . He had the best defense barristers money could buy paid for by Libyia. What more do you want ?

There was a Jury.

There wasn't a Jury.
yet another con on the public construed at the highest level to suit governemnt ends
Joy...remember I told you that the Government can lean on the Medical Profession, re swine flu, well here is a perfect example.
Judges can be leant on as well, especially in terrorism cases. Ask the Birmingham Six, the Guildford Four, the Maguire Seven... Trial or no trial, I wouldn't put a penny on al-Megrahi being guilty.

looks that way sqad, a lot of things going on to cover up, and now a pro. is the scapegoat for it?
Just like Ronnie Biggs, he was supposed to be on his last legs so they released him on compassionate grounds, 11 months on and he's still with us - quel surprise
