Brother HL1430 Laser printer prints light grey backgrounds

All my print output now has a light grey background when using a good quality slightly gloss paper but using Morrisons cheapest printing paper it is perfect.
This is very odd ? Any idea why please ?

How thick is the decent paper? the manual suggests only using the manual feed for paper above 105g/m²

It is very similar gauge paper but slightly glossy. Feeding manually through the front gives the same effect.
Come to think of it as I dont have the packaging it could be ink jet paper.
