if NT4, Windows 200, or windows XP, goto a command prompt and type "ipconfig". If 95/98 then type "winipcfg". You can get more detailed info by typeing "/all" after the command (eg. "ipconfig /all")
...or visit : http://www.whatismyipaddress.com & remember you may not have a permanent IP address - your ISP may assign you a new IP address ( from its pool of addresses )whenever you log-on.
If you need your IP address in a hurry I find that the easiest way by far is to use IP Assistant, available at http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=en&ie=UT

in a hurry? it doesn't get much quicker than "start, run, cmd, ipconfig"..........
You could use the force, i suppose that would be quicker....
A single mouse click copies it to the clipboard. Maybe it was only me, but I found this very useful when I needed that IP thing.
