As some of you may remember, Our Jaguar car was seized by Bailiffs and sold at auction in regard to claims made by 3 Plaintiffs. We went to court to try and stop this but sadly lost. The one Claimant who really pushed for the sale of the car has now sent us a claim for costs of £1558.58 that they want paying in 7 days.
Their claim was for £900.00 and therefore they pushed for the sale because, being the smallest claim they would definitey be paid. Am I to expect these same costs to be levied against us by the other two claimants who, at the court hearing were happy to take a charge on our house.
I have no idea what the car was sold for but the sale estimate was £3500.00. I would have thought that these costs were deducted from the sale price.
Can anyone give me some help here?

I know you are not going to like hearing this, but the vultures that cling onto these sort of cases will get paid out of the proceeds generated by the loser of the legal case.
I'm not going to try and defend such costs - they are hideously high, but I don't think you are going to win this one.
