feng shui can be applied to any number of areas I designed a garden on feng shui principles for example. the bog seat thing is more to do with having negative area in one of the points of influence , by closing the lid you close off an area where energy flows can get caught up in a negative zone, Especially inportant if the toilet is positioned in an important area for wealth or romance etc the link explains it better
