We flew last December to Auckland to visit our son via Singapore on Singapore airlines which were fantastic. We are thinking we would like to go again but have the stop over in Hong Kong as we have been told what a fabulous place it is, but don't know which airline would be best to travel on, we would want to fly from Manchester. Would love to hear anyones suggestions. Thanks.

Flights via Los Angeles and Fiji are shorter and both are lovely places to visit on top of this you don't suffer with the jet lag. However, on the way home come by Hong Kong and you'll get home jet lag free too. Can't help with airlines but if you google there might be a way via Sydney or Melbourne.
Two years ago we flew to Hong Kong from Manchester with Finnair. It was a great flight, and cheaper than other options to Hong Kong (eg Cathay Pacific). I'm not sure if they fly to New Zealand, but I'm pretty sure there was someone on our flight going on to Australia.

Oh - and Hong Kong is an amazing place! We were there for 9 days and loved it.
you could go on Air NZ - they go both ways. Flying west is best for reducing jetlag; so you could go out via LA and come back via HK. The airline is very good. You'd have to get yourself to London, though.
