Does anyone know the cheapest place to get rail tickets from please. We 4 OAP's need to get from London to Berwick-upon-Tweed in July. We're considering getting Senior rail cards - would they be worth getting? x

probably the best place for tickets London-Berwick is the website of the train operator, http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/

price will vary by day and time, but the most "available" discount fare is £47.00 one way, this reduces to £31.00 with a railcard (which costs £26.00). There are cheaper fares on certain trains/days, just enter your details into the website.
I always get my tickets from national rail website. They sell me the eastcoast train tickets and last month it cost me £21 return from south yorkshire. Prices vary depending on what time of day you travel. If you go early morning or tea time it is much more expensive than lunch time or evening.
If you are getting advance tickets for an East Coast train, then their own website is the best place to buy it from - they normally give a discount over the price you would pay anywhere else.
