2 dn Natives of Tangiers. Is it a Tangerine? If so, 12 across (Turf out 5 letters for which I have Expel) doesn't fit.

evict? does that fit?
12 could be evict
Question Author
Bibblebub and Boxtops. Thanks but if Tangerines is correct then Turf out would be E*E*L so evict wouldn't fit.
expel ? if the 2nd E is wrong
oops sorry forgot that's where you started
What letters do you have for 2 down? It could be that Tangerine is not right at all !
it is correct boxtops

Tangerine [ˌtændʒəˈriːn]
n
(Placename) a native or inhabitant of Tangier
adj
(Placename) of or relating to Tangier or its inhabitants
eject?
are you E E L all definite as I couldnt find any words that matched this?
Natives is surely TangerineS
It's eject.
I thought it was mazie, but nothing else seemed to fit, we could have been barking up the wrong tree!

Thanks everyone. Problem solved. It's Tangerine and Eject - I'd got 3 down wrong which meant that the "t" in "eject" had previously been an "e". Thanks again.
