morning, doc. they know she's not good, if you click onto the osprey blog, you'll see this morning's comments.

what you're seeing is the live feed, the camera runs constantly, but they've been moving in to get a close look at mum

don't know whether they will intervene or not, there's been talk about the dad taking over and rearing the chicks, but it's a heck of an undertaking if he does. fingers crossed tight
thanks seekerz, sad but good to know that our concern is not misplaced, they are all concerned too. We can but keep watching....
thing with birds and other animals in the wild is that peope take pot shots at them also if any farmer has put some poison food down
It is very sad, presumably in the normal course of events if Dad didn't bring fish, she would go and get some. But if the blog is right and she is dehydrated then she doesn't have the strength, just waits in hope for Mr O, and hopes she is strong enough to eat when he eventually turns up.

this is very sad - they will not intervene where the chicks are involved, they hope that dad will rear them himself. I guess that's what might/might not happen in the wild and that is what they are. I understand but it's hard after watching since they were hatched - a lot of prayers are needed.
sorry i watched the web cam, its very upsetting
Question Author
Yes, it's certainly that, doc.
Has to be though DrF, it's real life... she keeps lifting her head and the little one at the front is calling now, hopefully Dad will hear. Is that you on the blog, seekerz?
Dad came 11,.50am, spent a while calling and cheeping but was empty-handed, I'm willing him to Bring a Fish...!
just watched that,if he will not feed them surely it must be better to let a human feed them, than to let them die.
She's just shifted as if trying to move, her legs seem to be failing her. I've read the blog now, the old lady is 27 years old which is a magnificent age for a bird - may be just her time is come.
She keeps shifting and her head is leaning on the side of the nest rather than the bottom. Bring fish!
she has just been banging her head downwards into the nest
She cheeps from time to time too, I can just hear it - hopefully calling for Mr O.
Mr O has brought a fish at last and is feeding the chicks. Lady is still resting there, but lifting her head - I wonder if he will think to give her a bit - or he may know otherwise, we can't tell.
at long last dad brings back some dinner
Question Author
lucky both of you, to see the chicks have a feed - I headed off to have dinner over 3 hours ago, just back now.

Poor Lady, she doesn't seem to have any strength at all - don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight - still praying for a good outcome.
