beans are beans, if they aren't that good add something else like brown sauce or cheese.
Very nice, as is a lot of Aldi things!!
Well i get them for the boy scouts, and they eat them up no problem
You get Aldi baked beans mercia?! After all those menus you post with roasted medallion of pan fried baby unicorn! ;-)
They are fine though I often add a squirt of tom puree to mine.
Wouldn't buy any baked beans after tasting home made. We make a huge batch and freeze into double portion size. Ours have no preservatives, sugar, salt, fats, colouring and loads of E numbers. Just beans, ripe tomatoes and various natural herbs and spicies...........delicious.
Beans are definitely not just beans!

Some beans are horrible and solid! I stick to Heinz or Branston, but I wont count out Aldi as have never tried them!
i said squarebear: I GET THEM FOR THE BOY SCOUTS
I know Mercia. I'm just joking :-)
can i have pan fried unicorn tomorrow please
Aldi beans are great - not as good as heinz perhaps, but better than some of the cheap value ones.
McMouse - wouldn`t mind having your recipe!
Reminds me of the time when my sons would only eat Heinz. So I kept the last tin and brought some aldi beans. When they were having beans for a meal I would decant the beans into the clean empty heinz tin.
They never noticed the difference!!!!!

did something similar with granulated sweetener when no. 2 son would only have a certain brand, reckoned (did i spell that right, looks a bit odd) he only liked splenda so i used to buy asda own brand and tip it into a splenda jar. he never knew.
right then, aldi it is, worth a try i reckon. i too like lots of aldi stuff and shop there more and more.
beans are not just beans though in my opinion, makes no difference what you add to them. i only like heinz although that may change if aldi comes up trumps :)

Our baked bean recipe is generally based on "Three-Bean Baked Beans" found at www.simplyrecipes.com. They also show a tomato sauce.

We leave out the lardons/pancetta. Preference is for dried beans which are soaked overnight.

Good luck
Thanks for that McM
Aldi's are fine. Avoid Tesco healthy (low sugar/salt)beans at all costs - they are minging.
Waitrose Essential baked beans for me by choice. They are 26p small tin instead of about 47p for the blue labelled variety, but price not the issue in my case. Local Co-op are rubbish. Don't have an Aldi so can't comment on theirs.
I like londis own....I don't really like heinz.
