In the movie F.A.F.D.M. Lee van Cleef has a pocket watch that plays a tune, and at the end of the tune the gun-fight starts.  That tune, that the watch plays, was used as a sample track in a song in the late 80's/early 90's.  Does anyone know what the song is or who played it?

Thanks.

Think it was 'Gun Law' by the Kane Gang .... tune played at start and end of that one ....

I know the Morricone track from the film is called 'Sixty seconds To What?' (or L Resa Dei Conti is its Italian title) so I did a bit of Googling.

Was it Gunman by 187 Lockdown ? See Wikipedia entry (Dancy type music is not really my thing.)

Incidentally, since 'Sixty Seconds To What?' is now being used in a new 4x4 car advert, should I post it in Adverts in anticipation of when people get bored of asking about the Peugot 1007 advert and move on to this one? A pre-emptive strike if you will.

Now more certain than ever .... if it's the pop version which featured the watch playing at the start and end, then it's definately 'Gun Law' by The Kane Gang ....
I am pretty sure The 'Fields of the Nephilim' used a bit of 'the watch tune' in one of their tracks. They were a gothic band in the 80's. I can't remember the name of it though.  It was more than likely off their first album 'Dawnrazor' - maybe even the title track.

Didn't they use 'Harmonica Man' (another Ennio Morricone tune) in between tracks on one of their 12"s - or was that The Mish?

Where's our resident ex-goth LondonDave when you need him?

I'm pretty sure Pop Will Eat Itself used it on one of their tunes as well....
Brachiopod - The Nephs used alot of different 'soundtrack bytes' - uincluding the Harmonica Man and stuff from The Omen.  I am pretty sure they used the 'watch' tune too.  I will have to have a listen - I wasn't a goth, but for some reason I liked the Nephilim.
