My BF has invited some business colleagues round for dinner tonight (if I am still here by then). Just noticed how cloudy my wine glasses have gone because I stick them in the dishwasher. Anyone got a quick solution to get them sparkly again, please?

Wash them in the sink with washing up liquid.
You sure you haven't just run out of salt in the dishwasher? That always makes glass cloudy.
And then a good buff with a clean tea towel - they will come up treat Barmaid.....good luck
Bin em, get yourself down to Tesco or Asda, but more. Probably a far less stressful thing to do.
the Asda ones come with a This Way Up sticker on them, don't they, B00? Should be helpful for Barmaid's guests.
Not entirely sure why I slapped "bit more" in there?

Anyhoo!!

Zakly Jno! And they'll be all sparkly- the glasses i mean, not barmaids guests, though they could be too I guess.
Fancy a barmaid not knowing how to get glasses clean ;-)
you probably wrote 'buy more', B00. I'm sure the guests will be really sparkly once Barmaid's given them a good rub down with a clean cloth.

Oh yeah ,re-reading it, yup, that must have been what I meant to type.

I'm knackered today, can you tell? LOL
oh, just seen that you're expecting soon, no wonder you're distracted
ive heard vaseline or olive oil applied then buffed off...but i havent tried myself

I no longer use my posh glasses as they have to be hand washed. I use cheapo Ikea wine glasses, about £3 for 12. Maybe I no longer feel the need to impress anyone?
Don't let glasses "drain" dry them straight after washing. Sometimes they can get too far gone and won't wash clean.

Well tried various things. Eddie is right, they are too far gone. I won't put the next lot in the dishwasher!!
If they are small scratches then it's difficult to think of anything that won't effect the taste of the drink you put in them. Cheap replacements (or expensive ones) are my suggeston also.
eddie - i meant on the outside!

i assume they are cloudy because of minute scratches etc,,,rather than residue...
I always use those all-in-one (inc salt) dishwashers tabs. my glasses went cloudy, so I added salt to the dishwasher and they came out clear again.
