She was just informed yesterday that the majority of the funding has come thru.

I'm just glad I am not her...I know she is very stressed over this...;-(
Difficult decisions, I find, are always best slept on - even for a few nights.
I tell from experience, if she does not continue on to further her studies she'll find it very difficult to get back into studying. She'll be making excuses one after the other.

She's not the type to make excuses....and she really knows her own mind. She deferred going to university for 2 years, as she knew it was not the right thing for her at the time. I've no doubt that IF she decides to defer the PHd, it will be right for her. She is quite a driven person....but she also recognises the need to have a balance in her life.
Hi pasta,

That is fantastic news! one of my sons took his masters, but never went on to do a Phd.

I know this was a lot of studying so maybe she needs a break. I say Australia and then come back and knuckle down.
Hi Hun -she should take her time out while she can and huge congrats to her as I know she really worked hard x
Lifes short and unpredictable so make hay while the sun is shining and she'll come back and power though her PHD nae probs :) xxx
