"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" means exactly that - if something's ok, don't fiddle with it. You'll mess it up.
Yes, Yes, Yes ...never ever try to fix something that isn't broken. Closely related I think is "leave well enough alone"
This ought to be tattooed on the forehead of every management consultant so that the eejits who pass for directors in companies which are working well will get a timely reminder to reject the consultants' daft ideas, save a small fortune in fees and peoples' jobs.
