Last week I had a tempory tooth crown fitted on a big back lower tooth. I am going back next week to have the permanent crown fitted. However, I am concerned that the temporary crown has started to smell offensively. I have brushed as flossed but the smell seems to come from the tooth, for example, if I put my finger on it and smell my finger after it stinks! Does anyone know why this has happeded. Is it likely to occur when I have the permanent cap?

I have 2 permanent crowns and they don't smell and neither did the temporary ones. Have you contacted your dentist about this?
it certainly shouldn't. Ask the dentist. Probably just a bit of food trapped somewhere, but the permanent one should fit more tightly.

u have food under it , and have u continued ur antibiotics? or maybe u still have decay?

the permanent one should b fine

Sounds like your dentist isn't too good! Have you had any other problems like a root canal filling which resulted in the removal of the tooth? If so, then I would change dentists! Antonia Foley is very good.
