Hi All
My periods seem to be disappearing! I come on in the day I expect, but by the end of the day it has stopped! Bearing in mind that I've been on the pill for 5 years for heavy periods, and have suffered for years, I find this quite odd! I've also been having these really bad stomach pains, that the doc tells me is IBS, around the time that I come on, is it worth going back (Bearing in mind I've been many times and had negative blood tests)? Any ideas what could be wrong? PS Im not pregnant! (unless its possible to be 8 months pregnant and not realise, and be pretty thin!!)

Thanks

The only thing I can tell you is that I have been on the pill for a very long time and sometimes my period will come on and then stop....but by the next day it is back and regular.  Maybe it's sort of a pre-period?  Don't know about the IBS, but my tummy is always worse when my period is around.  Hope that helps.

It's quite common for IBS to flare up in the first few days of periods funnily enough I was only reading about it yesterday.  This isn't what I read but it's similar information here.

Sorry I can't help with the rest of your problem but as the years go by your body is going to change & maybe your periods would have become naturally lighter anyway, even if you were not taking the pill.

Not to worry you, but a good thing to do would be to have a scan to rule out polycystic ovaries. They check by doing an ultrasound. I know that they can affect periods in all sorts of ways. Also, you mention that you're pretty thin, remember if you don't eat regularly or have lost / are losing lots of weight this can also affect your periods as can stress. Good luck x
