Windows XP Restore

My daughter has tried 5 different restoration dates, but each time she is told that restore has been unsuccessful.

Is there anything else to try?

I think my mouse has died, please help

When I used XP it sometimes wouldn't let me restore unless It was in safe mode. Might work if you try that. Sorry though, I've got no idea why that was the case.

Have you tried repairing it from the Windows XP CD?

See if system restore is on:- Settings>control panel>system>system restore. check tick box
