I remember 1973 or thereabouts Olivia Newton John's 'Banks of the Ohio' (groan...) and Abba's 'Waterloo'. Both 45's - obviously!

Prudie Marion Ryan was a popular singer in the 1950's she was Paul and Barry Ryan's mother, She died in 1999 in Florida.
