The shortages are because of that stupid, stupid law that removed the right of the donor to remain completely anonymous.

Like annie, I would not donate an egg - it would be awful knowing you have another 'child' out there. I think you'd always be thinking about the child and wondering whether s/he looked like you or had any of your characteristics.

i donated eggs i 2001 the law on doners has changed now s the children are allowed to trace the doners . when i did it you remain annoymos i wouldnt of done it otherwise
