Whenever I hear the word kids I think of my mate who once told me she hates anyone describing children as kids as they are not young goats. I always try to avoid that word now when around her. Is there any word you hate people using. For me its got be other half, hate it, hate it, hate it

Another one that annoys me is generally when people mean genuinely, I have a friend who says this and I have to stop myself from correcting her!
"I need to be very pacific about this" - why, are you in the middle of the ocean?
I said that one as well lardhelmet, very annoying! 'A big ask' gets on my nerves as well!
You do that ttfn and I'll have to get rid of the tiara.
viser versa instead of vice versa never fails to wind me up
Ads in the property section advertising 4 bedroom detatched houses
'bag it' for tomorrow prudie!
A neighbour of mine is always getting his words muddled. The other day he said he wasn't feeling well and felt lethargic. The problem was it came out as legarthic
When people say something is "for free" instead of just "free"
Angel i use them swear words quite regular but not in public.
gobsmacked...I hate it hate it hate it.
Also the letter H being pronounced as Haitch
I hate the word - silly. I think it is very patronising and if you accuse someone of being silly you are just invalidating their opinion. You may not agree with their opinion but they are still entitled to it.
Yer i agree its a free country if i want to say the word i will.
The words boyfriend or girlfriend when applied to someone older. It's ok when in ones teens or twenties but gets a bit stupid sounding after 30+.

Also, I should of or could of.....grrrrr!!!
Any "PC" word like "Chairperson" does my head in and "Role model"
I'm just an old fart I suppose!
The ones that irk me are those who don't use 'there, they're and their' properly! Silly I know. My friend says 'tenatively' instead of 'tenTatively' when making arrangements which annoys me.
When did we start to "fill out" a form, rather than "fill in", which makes far more sense. When I was at the chalkface, a young colleague expressed genuine surprise that we, older teachers, hated the use of "could of" and didn't realise it was wrong!
My other pet hate is "are" in place of "our".
I hate the words gob and snot.
Agree with the "Kids" word and also hate the Americanisms now being used in TV Soaps,i.e. "Seeking Closure" and Taking a "Raincheck",no normal person speaks like that!!
People who can't be bothered to spend ten seconds looking up how to use there, their and they're properly. Similarly your and you're (even yore, For Funks Sake), its and it's. People who write alot when they mean a lot, everyday when they mean every day, instore when they think they mean in store, but actually mean in the store. I've admitted defeat on the use of data as a singular noun and I'm fighting a losing battle with criteria, but the next person who uses the phrase 'a cherubim' in my hearing will regret it.
