I hav posted my question twice now about Goobldeygook? text with files that I have recovered after a major crash and haven't seen any sign of either, how long does it take to get a message/query actually posted on Answerbank these days.
I've been away from the site for quite some time but now that I've had a need to use the facility again it seems so much longer or has my message just disappeared??
Or maybe I'm in too much of a hurry but the need is fairly urgent.

mine came up instantly
I did see it, but didn't feel I could add much to what old geezer said.

The only thing that I'm curious about, you said it only effected word documents? are you sure you're trying to open them with the same version of word they were created with and have you tried opening them on another computer?

Also if you've had to reinstall office, have you also installed all the available updates and service packs for office?
It might be worth trying to open your Word documents in WordPad. That sometimes reveals the text without complex formatting (which might be the cause of your problems).

Your question is still here. It was under Computers.

Your latest question is in Technolgy rather than in the computers subsection so maybe you were looking in the wrong place
