i recently bought a sofa & on delivery noticed that it was uncomfortable. I checked at the shop & the cushions were softer. they sent a technition round who also checked at hhe shop & found that a less denser foam had been used. They have agreed to replace the cushions, but I am still dis satisfied. Have I any claim for compensation.
Thanks

If they've agreed to change the cushions to the ones you want- compensation for what?
1st before considering any compensation - would you / should you not be getting them to replace your current 3 peice suite with the exact same as in shop THEN compensation could be something worth looking into
Yes...compensation for what?

Has it hurt your feeling?
plewi, don't send anything in writing to them......your spelling is appauling and would make yourself look stupid
rofl northernmonkey- pot, kettle and black!
Lol, Don't expect any compo to be given, as they have corrected the mistake made.
Up until the point at which you're deemed to have legally 'accepted' a purchase, you're entitled to a full refund of your money if that purchase is defective. (Thereafter the retailer is only obliged to repair or replace an item if a defect, due to an 'inherent fault', occurs within 6 years).

Since you spotted the problem straight away, and have never agreed that you've received a satisfactory product, you've not accepted' the defective sofa (in the legal sense of that word). Accordingly, you're entitled to a full refund.

peice? appauling? ...hmmm...
it may have just of been the case that you had to 'break the settee in'. i know when we bought ours we were told that for the first few weeks we may find thats its a bit stiff compared to the shop model as it has never been used.
As the shop has agreed to new cushions i dont see why you would be entitled to compensation. It was either that or send the whole thing back and get refund.

just to clarify, the foam is colour coded & therefore is fitted to each suite as per manufacturers SPI's. Mine has been fitted with a less denser foam (softer) making it less comfortable than the one on display in the shop. I accepted delivery of it on the grounds that it was undamaged in transit. Hope the spelling is up to northernmonkeys (NOT)
