Ok I know this is gonna make me sound really stupid but anyway, when you are roasting something in the oven and you are using tin foil, what way round does the foil go? I mean does it go shiniest side towards the food or the other way round? God how dumb am I? lol

Shiny side on top mycatis.  Cooking anything nice?
Question Author
I thank you Peri, roast chicken hurrah! the plan is to make it last for about a million meals (chicken supreme, soup etc) God I'm such a dummy, I better go check which way round it is now thanks
I love a nice big chicken that can go around like that and save a bit of time but unfortunately my lot are greedy and pick.  Enjoy your dinners mycatis.  And dont forget a little bit for the kitties.
Question Author
of course some for the kitties :)
i know i'm too late with this myc but it actually more energy efficient to put shiny side to food, it reflects the heat and cooks quicker and at lower temp!

Aargh!! You see this is why I'm all confused lol
I've always been just as confused mycatis - I wish they'd write instructions on the box!
Question Author

exactly how hard would that be?

I could be totally wrong and probably am but is there not something on that shiny side which like aluminium pots is not good when cooking food.  Just wondering ??

lol well thanks guys for all your help, between you you have managed to clear this little question right up!

Actually, the manufacturer of Reynolds wrap says it doesn't make a whit of difference... Check here:

As an ex area sales manager for a food wrap company I can state with confidence that it really doesn't matter.
if you happen to have an over done roast or chicken just place it on a rack in the oven at about 350 degrees and  place the foil inside out and as sure as you are you , it will reverse the cooking proccess and will be cooked to your liking and ,bobs your sister
