Bit of an obscure one this one... I remember hearing the lyrics from an Hawaiian-sounding song that had something like this in it: mela kaliky moka (that's a phonetic spelling as my Hawaiian isn't so good!!)

Any ideas??

...and a Merry Christmas (in Hawaiian) to you too.

Mele Kalikimaka has been released by Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters.

Oops. Forgot to include this link

The Beach Boys wrote a song called Melekalikimaka which is sometimes referred to as Kona Christmas. It can be found on later Beach Boys Christmas albums i.e Christmas with The Beach Boys.

The song was later reworked on their M.I.U album under the title "Kona Coast"

It has nothing to do with the Bing Crosby single and contains lots of references to Hawaii in native tongue.

Beautiful tune.
