Hi everyone,

We are just about to sell our house and know that we need a HIPs pack. The agent has offered their services for £375, but looking on the internet I can see companies doing them from £99.

Can anyone offer any suggestions/advice/recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Thanks mdoo98. I think thats the route we are going to take
probablt the only plus point about getting it from the estate agent is if you don't have the cash immediately. They often can take the money out of the sale price
might try saying to the est. agent "why should I pay you that much when i can get it for less" and see what he/she says...it couldn't hurt and if they are anything like the ones round our way, they are on their knees for work ATM
Paid about £250 6 months ago.
I'll be staggered if you can get it as low as £99. They have to send an EPC guy around to assess the insulation. That can't be any less than £35 surely. The fixed costs of LR and local searches are another £50.
There's something wrong here - it can't include all the costs so is just a headline eye-catcher.
Got a HIPS Nov 2009. for £250-- small . independent guy found in yellow pages.

Thanks guys. Used a company that won moneyfacts 'best hip provider' for 2008 and 2009. Very efficient, affordable and its all done now.
You've got your complete HIPS pack done within 2 days? Everything, including all 3 searches (the water/sewerage report is about 20 pages long usually)? That's amazingly quick.
