What kind of book and what age group?

I had a series of horse-related books called 'Flambards' by KM Peyton which I loved when I was 12ish.

Black Beauty?

Horses- The Black Stallion series (I read them as a child, wonderful stories!), Black Beauty, Misty of Chincoteague, Stormy Misty's foal, King of the Wind, National Velvet, My Friend Flicka, Mustang- Wild Spirit of the West...just to name a few, mostly juvenile fiction but not childish...wonderful stories and I highly recommend them all.

Here is a terrific website that sells all kinds of books, pretty easy to use search engine too.
