I'm sure my mind will cope if it is told the truth.
There is a tolerable (if not completely accurate) biography of M. LeMarchand here: http://pages.sbcglobal.net/mace/ . All right then, no he didn't exist. Clive Barker created the concept in "The Hellbound Heart", and it was expanded on (particularly in some of the comics and the 4th movie) by others. On the other hand: I exist, and maybe I just don't want those who would meddle in forces beyond their comprehension to know the whole truth. At least until I have finished my latest puzzle...

Thanks for replying. I had been to this site. I have read the Hellbound Heart. I was just intrigued and wondered if there might have actually been a real Philip LeMarchand as so many fictional characters in books, have actually been based on a real person with the same oir similar name.
well...
I have found many sites that have replica's of some of his puzzles
and I was under the impression that the charecter was based on a real person
but so far I have found no proof of his existance
but if you are interested:
