MY mother in law owned a caravan sadly she passed away and left the caravan for me to sell in which i did the caravan site then told me i had to pay for site fees from nov 09 to nov10 i disagree i told them i should not have had to pay the full amount as she died in feb the caravan was selt and took off the site but i had to pay them the full site fees i would like help in trying to get some of this money back can anyone advise me

did your mum have a contract for a year? What's the normal procedure if, say, she had wanted to sell up and move it 1/2 way through a year? If she had a contract then yes, you must pay it
Not that simple, I'm afraid.
Did she leave a will? Who is dealing with the estate?
Any liability to fees is a liability of the estate of the deceased and the executor needed to have sorted all of this out before handing over the caravan to you.
As part of that, the contract with the site owner should have been looked at to see what liabilities existed in the event of the death of the caravan owner.
Once you've paid over money to these people, getting it back is going to be a nightmare.
Yes, although it may seems unfair and annoying it is probably not uncommon for a full year's payment to be taken for an annual contract with no refund for early termination.

Anyway, as buildersmate says it was the estate that should pay the bill, not you. If you got the proceeds for the sale of the caravan, which I assumed exceeded the site fees, then financially you are not out of pocket.
