Can anyone help with my microwave problem?

does either part of the over still work (normal over or microwave over?) or are boths overs dead?

The convection and grill parts of the oven are still working fine, I've just checked and they are heating up, no prob. Just the microwave function not heating the food at all.

Well the bad news is it's the expensive part that has gone wrong! if it's out of guarantee then I'd say start looking for another one.

I thought that might be the case - unfortunate, as we have had to spend shedloads on the car this month! The light's on but nobody's home in the microwave. What do you think the fault is, ChuckF?

I have no idea what could be wrong, the problem with microwaves is you have an expensive controller controlling an expensive magnetron (that's the bit that makes the microwaves, not a robot in disguise!) if either have gone then it's not normally worth replacing either of them.

Eh well - we'll take a walk round to the dealers tomorrow and see what they suggest. One of the problems of buying a combi anything, I guess (that's why we stopped buying integrated hifis in the years gone by, one bit always broke before the rest!).
