My OH tried to get something off the worktop with a scouring pad!!!!!! Before I kill him, is there any way I can do something about it?
TIA

You can't repair the damage to the laminate. The only answer is to either replace the whole top or to re-laminate it. But first give your OH a belt round the earhole to remind him not to do it again! Second, give him the bill.

What was in the gravy, Readymix?
Ok... try a solution of baking powder with just a touch of water, to make a paste. Leave it on top of the affected area for a couple of hours, but don't rub in, as it can be quite abrasive as it is. Hopefully this will improve things greatly.
^^^^^^^^^ Well said Aggie

I could get that off with my tongue in 20 seconds...

Thanks for the SENSIBLE answers. The gravy had been made with all sorts including cornflower. He had spilt it the night before and left it and it had stuck like glue!!! So NO-KNOWLEDGE the name suits you.
I always thought No-Know knew all about Gravy.
crapmemory-is it just the gravy that's the problem or are you needing to repair the laminate surface that has been scoured?

Factor30 I might patent the gravy as a new type of glue but the scoured laminate is the problem.
