i am the policy holder of a comprehensive car insurance cover that allows me as the policy holder to drive other cars, does anyone know if this also allows any named driver on the same policy to drive other cars also

The Driving Other Cars extension provides the policyholder only with the minimum cover required by law to drive another car. So the damage to the car you are borrowing would not be covered- the intention of this extension is to provide the policyholder with cover should they need to drive someone elses car in an emergency. Be Careful as some insurers qualify this within the policy and state that this extension will not apply to certain vehicles e.g. cars belonging to other family members

If the person needs to drive another car you can get a temporary policy I used a company called tempcover.com today as I needed insurance for a borrowed car until my new car comes next week it's very easy and instant once you have paid and worked out at £10 a day for a 2006 focus fully comp inc business use

I'll definitely use them again certificate is printable when saved to your PC and is underwritten by Royal and Sun Alliance
