Where a DVD's format states *Anamorphic* what does that mean? Ta Muchly.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.anamorphic cameras used to be ones that filmed a scene on wide screen but then compressed it so it would fit on a negative of regular width; a projector would then reverse the process when it played in cinemas. For a DVD, I think it basically means the film is a widescreen one, like Cinemascope or something. It'll probably appear on your screen with black bands top and bottom to give it the right shape, unless you actually have a screen that's already the right shape.
