After Googling, I found this on handbag.com:

Weddings are often three-day affairs involving different ceremonies and celebrations. You are most likely to be invited to the wedding reception, rather than the entire thing, but you may be invited to the traditional marriage ritual of nikah. Men and women may be separated, either by a curtain or in different rooms.

The service itself is reasonably simple, involving a sermon, prayers, declarations and the signing of a marriage contract, and it takes about an hour. The wedding feast is likely to be just that - an absolute feast - and it is not uncommon for the guest list to run to hundreds.

Modest dress is the order of the day and again traditional costume is an option worth considering. Alcohol is unlikely to be served. It is also traditional to give envelopes of money as gifts.
