I'm lookng to renew insurance for my normal average home and have been reading reviews for different companies. Most are OK when giving quotes, answering questions etc but, even the big companies have terrible reviews when it comes to how they deal with claims. I haven't claimed for over 20 years and hope I won't need to, but, just in case, has anyone had a good experience with any company in the event of a claim?

i am with abbey, and haven't had a particularly good experience when claiming if that helps? For a simple thing like a washing machine it was ok-ish, but for my big flood claim less than perfect.
However, having spoken to others my experience seems much better than theirs!
Jock, I always thought that insurance was something you must have but would never think of claiming anything. About 18 months ago after a long period of worry I decided for some reason to call my insurance company for some advice. I never looked back from that moment. They took over and arranged everything. I had to move out of my house and some of the floors had to come up and fans put in to dry the place out, then it was all put back together again. I had been with my insurers since I moved into my little house over ten years ago and I cannot speak highly enough about what they did and the way they did it. They are, and always will be, The Prudential.
