Me personally, No I could not shop anyone for all it infuriates me , apparently there is 1.3 billion pound a year goes on Benefit fraud and now they, being the Government are giving you a cash incentive to shop someone,
But what about the tax dodgers, they should go for them rather than Joe Bloggs in the street, the fat cats who are big time crooks by avoiding paying UK taxes would bring in more revenue ?
Still couldn't do it tho'

hmmm.... if you think it's okay to turn a blind eye.. maybe you could bear in mind that, when you can't get an NHS hospital bed, there's not enough books for kids at school or the elderly and sick can't get the care they need... where did all that money go instead?

it's tax-payers' money, mine and (most of) yours, and I don't want it being spend on benefit fraudsters.

and it's unreasonable to think the government can be aware of all fraudsters without a bit of help from Joe Public sometimes.

No EKnewsDS, not jealous, just enraged that people can be so sodding greedy
I am retired. And no, not jealous at all. And I worked for years with chronic arthritis when I probably could have got benefits, but would rather have worked and paid my way and not been a leech on society.
And I don't begrudge any genuine claimants their benefits, just those who should be out their doing their bit for the society that they rely upon for their living - and there are many of them.
Lottie,
All I am saying is,people must be careful how (and why) they judge others to be benefir frauds.
YOU are not in their house (or shoes) and what may appear to be a benefit fraud may not be.
One of our (not that near) neighbours reported us in this way,so it's a touchy subject with Elsie and I.
Needless to say it was proved we were no fraudsters,BUT we had to go in front of a DWP panel (of3) who grilled us about income (and family) for nearly 3 hours!
I think I have said enough, before I become overheated on the subject.
I agree agree Mr Veritas. Reporting should be done with great care and only if you are reasonably sure of your facts. Did IAP report you? ;o)
Nice try Lottie! LOL
No Pickle is not in a state to report anything, and yet if you saw him he looks fine(the problem is in his head of course). He is another candidate for false benefit fraud reports, given that he doesn't look ill.
No an arrogant ex Colonel type and his wife reported us.
Mind you I should be pleased really,as they report everyone in our lane for something.
So now I feel one of the club!
if you are on benefit can you still claim the cash incentive to shop someone,
when i get a £1 rise in my pension they take 50p off my benefit. after working 30 + years i get the huge amount of just over £30 a week.
sara,
If you really believe that any Benefit payments saved from fraudsters will go to the NHS,schools or the elderly, or the like you are really naive,
The Treasury will just keep them.
Oddly enough one of the DWP panel that grilled us,told us after, that if the local Upper Budgets for Benefits are not taken up;then the next year the Treasury will reduce the budget to the lower(last year) level.
there are lots of people not getting what they could get.
