There seems to be a campaign in the print media for the removal of John Terry from the England captaincy.

Does his private life have anything to do with captaining England? Are the media guilty of trying to sabotage England's preparations?

It's because the media is owned by Australians and the country run by Scotsmen.
They'll do anything to upset our World Cup squad.
I couldn't give a monkeys about who he is knocking off and will take no notice of it.
It's down to his wife to give him grief.
As for "stepping down" from his job as captain let every adulterer in the country follow suit and do the "decent thing".
Could cause a bit of trouble!!
Boxtops - the difference between John Terry and Tiger Woods is that Terry plays a team sport at international level, Woods plays a solo sport.

The issue of Terry's captaincy should be decided entirely on his effect on the England squad. If it is causing a detrimental effect, then he should be demoted or sent home, depending on the depth of effect.

Apart from that, he should be judged as a player, and his private life should be left as just that - private.

From the stories I have read, he comes across as a grasping cheating morally bankrupt thug, but I don't watch football, so have no interest in him on any level.

He should be allowed to play for team and country if selected for his abilities - as long as neither start to promote him as a 'role' model' - on which he fails at all levels.,
