would it be worth buying gold in a sale from argos etc then sell it to gold for cash people?hw do you find out how much it weighs without having to buy it first?

I would have thought that if you could make a profit that way then Argos would sell all their gold jewellery to the Cash For Gold merchants themselves instad of selling it through their stores.

Most of the stuff Argos sells is 9 caret. That means about 1/3 of its weight is gold. If you bought an item that cost £100 the gold content would be worth about £30.
I'm still looking for the crock of gold at the end of the rainbow to make my fortune.

Argos? Your better bet is more likely to be e.g. car boot sales. No shop is going to sell a gold item for less than its value by weight.
Carrying scales might make the police suspect that you deal in Bolivian Marching powder as well as gold.

well thats what i thought but took some today for a friend,she bought a necklace from a high street fashion store for a fiver,and she had a really fine thin necklace from argos,not worth much at all and got £32!!wish i had been a chav when i was younger and had all the gold earrings and stuff!
cash for gold Uk is a best place to buy gold at affordable price and there will be no middleman.
