Day of the Triffids

Once again, my digital recorder cut the end off the programme. The last thing I saw was Eddie Izzard getting his just deserts and Dougray Scott and his party in a rowing boat. Presumably, they were trying to reach the other survivors on the Isle of Wight. Can some kind soul let me know how it ended.

Why not set your recorder to record 10 mins.after programme has ended then you wouldn't have that problem.

From memory parsfan - I don't think you missed much by the sound of it. that's the last bit I remember of it also - and I managed to stay awake until the end.

As they rowed away there was some voiceover about them finding a self sustaining group on the IoW, where they were able to keep the island triffid free and all live happily ever after. You probable missed about 30 seconds

Thanks all. Sounds as if I didn't miss much. I was expecting to see something about the blind regaining their sight, the triffids being destroyed, etc. Should have read the book I suppose.
Unfortunately, the recorder I have doesn't let you record an extra ten minutes, just the programme. What you need to do is set it to record the programme following as well, but this can be a problem if you are already recording other programmes at this time. It would help things if the BBC kept to the scheduled times. Hey ho.

Why not get Sky plus, it`s amazing, and you can be sure not to miss the endings of films.

thats right, they theory was that the triffids were not able to tolerate salt water so they would be safe on the island, which was the nearest i suppose. The final point made was that we are blind even when we can see.
