I quite agree, if friends bring their dogs I make them leave them in the garden, don't want their smelly bottoms sitting on my chair (the dog's that is)or doghair everywhere!

Some years ago, we had just moved into a new house & invited friends for the day. We do not have dogs & aren't particularly doggy minded so were surprised when the friends arrived with their beagle in tow. Their dog was obviously suffering from a stomach upset because it ran upstairs leaving diarrhoea in every stair. The husband & my husband spent the afternoon clearing the mess from our new stair carpet & the whole incident was extremely embarrassing for all concerned.

Leave pets at home unless they, too, have been invited.

But seriously, I welcome pets into my home if they are known to me and my own pets and are well behaved. Most of our friends and relations are the same - perhaps birds of a feather flock together, it seems we are all animal lovers.

Now children are a different matter.............................. I can't stand people who bring badly behaved children round!!

I won't have smoking in my house under any circumstances. Having said that, noone that visits seems to smoke
anyway!!
