It has suddenly stopped working. When I click on the icon on the desktop it opens outlook for about 1 second and then an error message pops up saying " Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window". Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what do I do about it?

Presumbly you have restarted the computer and tried again?

If so then stick your office disk back in the drive and select "repair current installation" when given the option.

Thanks for that. Outlook came preinstalled and no disks came with the computer. Any other suggestions please?
Thats highly unusual then, microsoft office is an expensive bit of software, it's very rare for it to be pre installed (unless it's the 60 day trial)

Are you sure it's not outlook express?
Is it a new computer and has the trial of office run out?

What happens if you start Word or Excel, do you get any error messages?

Many new computers come with a trial of Office but it runs out after say 60 days.

Youy can use Windows Live Mail which is free (download from the web)
Go To Control Panel ... Add/Remove ... Look for and highlight Microsoft Office ... Click on Change ... Wait for panel ... Click Repair, and let it do it's job.
Should fix it.

I thought this area was for sensible answers (and answers that will work) : (
