The Hilton is in the centre of York and is of a good quality, and right opposite the castle. Or if you want pure indulgence, try the Royal York hotel by the station, it's just had a refurb and looks fabulous!!

That street the Grange is on still has some really nice hotels on it, if you want a smaller place.

hope you find somewhere nice! enjoy this fab city!!

Hi Snappy,

When I am in York I have always stayed at the Judges Lodgings,an 18thc Mansion, once used by the Judges to stay in, on their Judicial circuit of the County.

As Hotels are very personal I will let it speak for itself,in this link:~

If you get a room at the back of the house, some have wonderful views of the (floodlit) Minster, which is just around the corneThe bar is great, and the Restaurant does wonderful food. They even have car park, which for central York is quite a find.

BTW,I am NOT related to the Hotel! LOL

Have a Great Time, and have Pot of Tea in Bettys for me?
