Have completed the grid and located two book titles - can anyone please tell me if I should be looking for a third Book Title? Thanks

I've got two as well, are ours the same?
One starts with K, the other with A
Question Author
Oops - my first title is two words V--- B----- and my second title is A----- F--- I am now very confused!
Sorry my A is AF (senior moment!)
I haven't got VB
But K is bottom left
When I've found VB I'll come back to you!
Ok, found VB
so which do we cross out? definitely VB
Perhaps K is wrong but I can't find any others
Also 17 across I've got the first 5 and last letters, but Chambers is being awkward or (more probably) I've got something wrong!)
I'm feeling really thick!
Question Author
17AC. Lear backwards plus Enemy minus MY! (well) Is the K in SKIP ?- can't make a book title.
Hiya
Just go straight down from the K (5 letters)
Now, what do we get rid of?
Obviously VB 'cos of the Authors name
Any ideas?
Question Author
Well, well! Do we black out the two WELLS!
Going back to the quote it indicates we remove war (Waugh?)
Fun isn't it?
I'm in the same boat - my suspicion is that the jaw well one remains - I can see why the waugh one goes but not so sure on why the wells one should go too, other than the title of something else he wrote - to make the defined two titles blacked out.

Its starting to bug me a bit
Thanks for the K answer, I'd been looking for it for ages. Not fully sure why one would black out the K one, but I agree that it's most likely. Presumably most people have got the phrase and it's originator. The authors of the books in question form puns, which relate to the phrase in question. If you say the first name of the author of AF and the first part of his surname (run them together) it sounds similar to the first two words of the phrase. The author of VB is a pun on one of the pair of words at the end of the phrase.
j-w j-w w-l sounds like g- o-
is ..... than
w-r w-r w-ls (w-l w-l) sounds like w-h or w-ls
hence af retained and k and vb blanked
