"Wireless" light keeps going out on BT router

Every day, the "Wireless" light on my BT router decides to go out, which results in me being unable to connect to the internet.

In order to rectify this, I have to turn my router off and then turn it back on. It then works fine.............until the following day!

Is anyone else having this problem?

just out of interest, are you sure it's the wireless light and not the internet light?

the only time I've ever seen a wireless light go out on a router it was due to extremely high powered interference.

Thanks folks.

Yes, Chuck, it's DEFINITELY the "Wireless" light - the one second in from the left.
Contact BT and tell them your router is faulty and they will send you another one.

From my dealings with BT home broadband customer services I would have to agree with you DOC.

BT should replace the router as it's obviously faulty, but as you say the call centre are trained to work through a check list and the computer won't let them do anything until they have click "completed" on each step! so in reality it's going to be a pain to actually get it replaced and probably cost you a small fortune in phone calls)

If you are prepared to simply ditch the BT router and spend out on your own one then by all means do so, and netgear do make very good ADSL routers, also if you buy a your own router you can use it with any ISP. So if you change ISP at any time in the future you will always have a decent router to use (rather than the crap most ISP's send out for free)
oh and morning Doc :)

_NOK_ (wow a new user :)) the BT home hub isn't a bad bit of kit, when they are working but they are not the most reliable things about!

Ironically, the bloody thing has been fine this week - AARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
