Fitting a new fire with a back boiler.

Hi,

I currently have a gas fire with a back boiler. Please can you tell me if its possible to change teh actual gas fire to another one (possibly a living flame one) or another Radiant one? If so, is it expensive and where do I start looking?

Don't know if I'm too late - but we did it! We had to replace the back boiler as it blew so while we were at it we got a new living effect gas flame fire. It was about 1800 for both (incl fitting) and I'm really pleased with both.

Hi, Thanks for that. But I don't really want to replace the back boiler just the fire. Found out its a Glowworm fire and boiler. Can anybody help me on this?

Hi, dont know whether this helps or not but both myself and my mum have living flame gas fires. Both are a pain in the backside. The igniter keeps going wrong on ours and it soots up quite badly so we leave the pilot on. Mums is a pain to light too. Would never have one again.
