If you are going by boat, ferry shops sell them. Or try a travellers shop like Blacks or the YHA. My local Tesco has an 'end of aisle' rack with travel goods including plug adaptors. For France you need two round pins. The plug ususally has two round pins at '3 oclock and 9 oclock' and an eart socket at '6 oclock'
Dixons, Currys, WH Smith, Woolworths... most high street shops selling electrical goods should stock plug adapters.
