Jayne, are you actually playing conkers?!!

I'm with Vulcan, btw.
Sounds Logical JJ !
For each Conker you beat you add 1
Question Author
No, Sara.

It was mentioned on the radio today.

I was at a girls school, and I've never played conkers.

I don't get the scoring.

If you add together the points of the winner and the loser, the winner of two Nought'ers is still a Nought'er.

You could smash 20 other conkers' and still be a Noughter.

Must get my Conker out and have a look JJ !
I'm lost !
Question Author
Yes, Redman, but ...

If I have beaten 2 already (a Two'er)

and you have beaten 2 already (also a Two'er)

then if my Two'er beats your Two'er ... what is mine now?
Afternoon JJ

Just got in........thought i'd chill a bit.........and see you're thread for conkers?

Do you know you're bonkers?..............cute though, sweetheart xx :0)

I was a champion conker player in my youth, i'll have you know!..............( well, i did get beat as well :0( )
so.....
A new conker is a none-er meaning that it has conquered none yet.
If a none-er breaks another none-er then it becomes a one-er, if it was a one-er then it becomes a two-er etc.

The winning conker assimilates the previous score of the losing conker, as well as gaining the score from that particular game. e.g, if a two-er plays a three-er, the surviving conker will become a six-er (the two previous scores.............. plus one for the current game)

I need a drink now..........for fluffs sake
Thought it would have been a 4 JJ.... it's ages since I played

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you ... Yogi

Thanks, Yogi. That makes sense.

So

2 beating 2 ... becomes 5

2 beating 1 ... becomes 4

2 beating 0 ... becomes 3

That was the question ...

You get a point for winning the game ... AND you inherit the other conker's accumulated victories.

It all makes sense now.

Doc's linked report changes it's maths part way through.

It start's out with

0 + 2 = 3 (CORRECT)

and then suggests

2 + 3 = 5 (WRONG)
Yayyyyyyy................you've got it, sweetheart xx

(took a while though, eh?).................but as i love you to bits, as you know, you're excused!........................lol xxx
Question Author

JJ,

If you fancy a game, i'll polish up my conkers and you can have first whack.....:0).....but i warn you.......i dont play fair.......but it is jolly good fun..............lol

Did you know that if you knock your opponents conker out of his hand onto the floor you can jump on it and claim victory for your conker is called ( Stamsey )
Question Author
Thanks, Dusty.

But those rules don't deal with cumulative points !

I like the rule ...

"If both nuts smash at the same time then the match shall be replayed"

Bit tricky if they're both smashed.
